Dessau

The Dessau biogas plant is located in Dessau in the Saxe-Anhalt Land. It produces biogas, and turns organic waste into electricity and heat on one hand and biomethane on the other hand.

The plant was comissioned in November 2014 and works with a double recovery principle :

- the plant has a cogeneration unit with a capacity of  550 kWel. that produces electricity (injected into network) and heat (supplying the plant)

- the plant also has a gas cleaning unit (water) producing 700 Nm3/h of biomethane directly injected into natural gas network.

The biogas plant treats 60 000 tons of waste per year.
